Yamaha RM1x Sequence Remixer

Postby Gypsy » Mon Jun 29, 2009 2:31 pm

Was in town today and having a look around the second hand shops came across the Yamaha RM1x Sequence Remixer the price on it was £140. So thought about buying it...thing is, it is supposed to be for creating dance music...question, £140 is that value for money or is that exspensive for a second hand machine, then - though I have nothing against good dance music, flying rhino they have some good tunes on their label, but, - I'm thinking, and I don't know, but surely it should be possible to create some good experimental tunes with the machine, having never used one I wouldn't know...so anybody passing this thread with knowledge or something to say about the Yamaha RM1x Sequence Remixer I'd love to hear it. Is it easy to use, have good sounds, would it lend itself to te mentioned experimental stuff, etc - would it be £140 well spent..

sounds interesting, but I don't know of these, sorry I can't help other than the links below:
The fact that these seem to come with a floppy drive, indicates their age.

Here, it's going for much more on Ebay, and in £'s too:

Here it's going for $400 which I guess would be around £240:

so the price you've been offered seems comparatively reasonable.

Thanx for all that, so seems that I should buy it, if it turns out to be no good, i will be able to make a few quid and get something better. Yeah it has a floppy drive so it would be quite old...could be from nthe first wave of midi instr. , then again some of those older instr. are quite sort after now, and some do have great sounds.
£400 seems a bit much but £240 reckon it would sell for about that..though the shop it's in is cash converter, you have them over there aswell don't you and they usually don't make mistakes in the prices and get the most they can..cash cons i call em...it's erly gonna go for coffee..

Ca$h Convertors - yeah we do, unfortunately. There's a pawn shop in town too, we used to get some bargains there.

pretty much the same here cash cons run all the small businesses out by first paying good prices then when no other shops were left..shit prices..really paid under the odds for items...what can ya do...now and again you can still find a bargain...if they have sometyhing and don't know the real value...as this sequencer seems on the face of it to be a bargain...
